WHAT WE’LL BE COVERING?

During the handstand classes we will be covering everything from absolute basics all the way to our grand goal of holding a free-standing handstand. With our well structured classes we’ll take you through all the necessary step-by-step progressions and stability drills to achieve correct balance in an inverted position. Our comprehensive syllabus consists of physical preparation devised into strength,mobility and flexibility. Beginning with basic conditioning for wrists, forearms and shoulders all the way to mobilizing hip, improving pelvic tilts and achieving correct spine alignment. This class will offer an in-depth knowledge of the human body and it’s physical capabilities, but let me highlight the fact that we will not be showing fancy “Shortcuts” when it comes to achieving handstands.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Our classes will take place in Gym Plus Rathfarnham, South Dublin. They are designed for absolute beginners, with certain aspects covering knowledge that is relevant even to those that have already began their assisted handstand journey. This is an entry level handstand class. It is structured to run as a 12 week course, after which you will either progress onto the intermediate class or remain in the current level and polish off the basics. We will begin our handstand training starting with the absolute basics – joint preparation, mobility + flexibility, followed by basic conditioning drills that are needed to correctly prepare your body for inverted alignment.

While these classes do not require any specific strength / mobility requirements to participate, we do ask of you to be able to train not only in our presence but also by yourself at home/gym. Throughout the classes we will encourage everyone to take notes and try all the exercises and drills but we do require you to put the work in and show up for the training as it is this what will get you a solid, freestanding handstand.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course is structured around 24 classes divided into 5 chapters . Each chapter will have an average of 4 days of practice. If you happen to miss a mid-week / weekend class it should not affect your progress too much as we will be covering similar aspects + exercises during the next session.

With Flexi pass you’re free to pick and choose which 8 classes you would like to attend + Unlimited rescheduling. ** Please remember that Flexi pass sets your account on constant state of “reschedule”. While purchasing individual sessions might seem beneficial for busy persons it might not be the cheapest solution for you. Purchasing the full course or any other deal offers a massive discount on the course. Each session that is purchased now that falls outside of the 16 classes will simply be carried over onto your intermediate class or refill sessions for current level.

This course is an entry level course created primarily with beginners in mind. Structured around fundamentals that require zero previous experience in calisthenics.

This course is mainly aimed at people between the ages of 16 – 45. If you happen to fall outside of this range but would consider yourself fit & healthy please send us an message via Contact page or email us on [email protected] and we will happily sign you up.
